There's something about the full moon... Whenever I look up at it, something within me always feels seen or heard. Knowing this gives me a sense of peace that my prayers aren't going on deaf ears. My heart just seems to feel more open when I gaze upon the moon because deep down I know everything will be all right.
I've only recently just begun to notice the effects of the new moon. Yes, the full moon is powerful. I can tell by the way it makes me feel. But the new moon is just as powerful when we begin to harness its energy. Here is the best way I can explain: the new moon is like the seed being planted in the dirt (setting intentions and manifesting your dreams); the full moon is like the fully bloomed flower (watching all your hard work pay off).
During this new moon today, I am really manifesting what I want my life to look like. I want to travel the world, dive into forgiving myself and others, teach yoga and make art for a living, and understand the reasons why having a child of my own scares the shit out of me (when I love kids sooooo much!).
Here are some of the steps I like to take during the new moon:
1. Write in my journal of what I would like to see happen. Be very precise and conscious of what you are asking for!
2. Say these things out loud. The more times I say it out loud, the more real it becomes. Does it scare me sometimes to say these things? Of course! But the more I believe it to be true already, the more likely it will turn into fruition.
3. Meditate meditate meditate! I find a quiet seat in my house. Light a candle or incense. Then I envision what my life looks like with these manifestations. Where am I living? What does my day to day look like? How do I feel inside?
4. Chant "Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad". This chant was introduced to me at a yoga retreat in the mountains and I am obsessed! This is a kundalini chant for manifestation and miracles. I sing along to Jai-Jagadeesh on spotify "Expand into Intuitive Knowing". Read what Gabby Bernstein (Spirit Junkie) has to say about the chant here.
